Entry Level IT Support Engineer roles typically do not pay $2000 a day; such high daily rates are usually associated with highly specialized or senior IT positions, freelance consulting, or contract work in fields like cybersecurity, cloud architecture, or IT project management. These roles often require advanced certifications, extensive experience, and working on short-term or high-value projects.

What are Entry Level IT Support Engineers?

Entry Level IT Support Engineers are professionals who provide technical assistance and support to users experiencing computer, software, or network issues. They typically troubleshoot problems, install and configure hardware and software, and help maintain IT systems for organizations. These roles are usually suited for individuals at the beginning of their IT careers and often serve as a stepping stone to more advanced positions in information technology. Good communication skills, a basic understanding of IT systems, and a willingness to learn are important for success in this role.

Is AI replacing tech support?

Entry Level IT Support Engineers focus on troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, and while AI tools can automate routine tasks, they do not fully replace human support. Developing skills in AI and automation tools can enhance an IT support career.

What are some common challenges faced by entry level IT Support Engineers, and how can they overcome them?

Entry level IT Support Engineers often encounter challenges such as troubleshooting unfamiliar technical issues, managing high volumes of support tickets, and communicating effectively with non-technical users. To overcome these, it's helpful to develop strong problem-solving skills, seek guidance from experienced team members, and continually expand your technical knowledge through training and hands-on experience. Building good communication skills is also key, as you'll regularly translate technical information for end users and collaborate with colleagues across departments.

How to get into IT support with no experience?

Entry-level IT support engineers can start by gaining foundational knowledge through online courses, tutorials, or certifications like CompTIA A+. Building practical skills by setting up home labs, volunteering for tech support tasks, and learning common tools such as Windows, Linux, and ticketing systems can improve employability. Internships or entry-level positions often do not require prior experience and provide on-the-job training.

What jobs pay $10,000 a month without a degree?
