The City of Laguna Beach is seeking an experienced and innovative Human Resources professional to join our Human Resources & Risk Management Department as a Human Resources Analyst or Senior Human Resources Analyst, depending on qualifications and experience. This position offers a unique opportunity to support a broad range of human resources functions, including recruitment and selection, benefits administration, onboarding and offboarding, classification and compensation, employee and labor relations, organizational development, and other strategic HR initiatives.

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted partner to departments throughout the organization, helping attract, develop, and retain a talented workforce while delivering exceptional public service. Whether coordinating recruitments, administering employee programs, conducting organizational analyses, or supporting key City initiatives, this position provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative and service-oriented environment. Examples of Duties What You'll Do: Coordinate and administer recruitment and selection activities. Administer employee onboarding and offboarding processes. Support employee benefits administration and employee inquiries.

Conduct classification and compensation studies. Interpret personnel policies, labor agreements, and employment laws. Maintain HRIS data integrity and prepare workforce reports.

Assist with employee relations, investigations, and performance management. Support labor relations, training, wellness, and special projects. Partner with departments to provide responsive HR solutions.

Qualifications Any combination demonstrating the ability to effectively and successfully perform the duties of the position is considered qualifying. Supplemental Information This recruitment will establish an eligibility list that may be used to fill future vacancies in the same or lower classifications.

The selection process may be modified based on the needs of the City.
