Job description

Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Group has an opening for a Support Associate. This role assists with various administrative tasks within the Company which include mailroom duties, as well as other administrative tasks as assigned.
Support Associate
  • Entry Level.

Essential Functions
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Handles all tasks in regards to picking up, sorting, and delivering mail.
  • Supports the insurance operations through processing of incoming documentation.
  • Duplicates, collates, assembles, mails, and distributes materials as instructed.
  • Operate equipment to complete daily print of policies and prepare for mailing.
  • Understands computer operations and is capable of navigating multiple applications simultaneously and accurately.
  • Acts as the backup to the front desk in assisting visitors and answers telephone calls, takes messages or refers the caller to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintains customer files in storage.
  • Represents the Company by providing superior internal and external customer service.
  • Effectively manages and prioritizes assigned projects and deadlines.
  • Manages multiple tasks at once.
  • Ensures data quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Works with suppliers on ordering products for the operations of the mailroom.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures, and distributing mail.
  • Ability to operate equipment necessary to print, assemble, and mail documents, including troubleshooting routine issues.
  • Knowledge of telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Obtain and utilize sensitive information discreetly and objectively.
  • Maintain records, prepare reports and conduct correspondence related to the work.
  • Correct English usage, spelling, grammar, vocabulary and punctuation.
  • Displays strong interpersonal skills.

  • Uses initiative and applies innovative thinking.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships in a team environment through written and oral communication.

Experience and Education Qualifications
Support Associate
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of related experience; or
  • Associate's Degree

Special Requirements, Licenses and Certificates
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license for mail delivery/pickup from the post office.

Physical Requirements
  • Vision sufficient with correction to read small print in communications, policies and on the computer screen
  • Hearing or other means sufficient to understand conversations in person and over the telephone
  • Speech sufficient to make oneself heard in person and over the telephone
  • Mobility sufficient to move around in an office setting
  • Dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment
  • Strength sufficient to lift and carry routine office equipment weighing up to 30lbs.
  • Endurance sufficient to maintain productivity throughout entire shift
