A day in the life of a IT Help Desk Support Technician at Graham Construction, a 3G Company: You'll spend your day troubleshooting hardware and software issues, responding to IT helpdesk requests, and assisting employees with their devices. You'll set up equipment and software for new hires and provide IT training as part of the onboarding process. Throughout the day, you'll also handle tasks like maintaining conference room technology and resolving printer or scanner issues as they arise. This support may take place in office or at a construction jobsite.


Job Title: IT Help Desk Support Technician

Reports To: IT Help Desk Manager

Purpose: The purpose of this job is to support our employees through IT equipment management and technical assistance both onsite and remotely.


What you'll do:

  • Provide timely onsite and remote technical support for employee's hardware, software, and mobile devices.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks, including installation and upgrade of software.
  • Monitor IT helpdesk emails and requests. Determine solutions for issues and provide user assistance.
  • Set up and install end-user PCs, Laptops, Tablets, and Smart Phones.
  • Assist with new employee onboarding and IT training.
  • Assist with IT Initiatives
  • Plan and coordinate set up of new employee's software and hardware devices.
  • Assist with other IT issues (ex. Conference room technology, printers, scanners, etc.)
  • All other duties as assigned


What knowledge, skills, and abilities you'll bring:


  • Associates degree in information technology, computer science, cyber security or related degree.
  • At least two years of experience assisting end users in a IT capacity, preferred.
  • Experience with Apple IOS Support, PC, and Experience with: Windows server, Active Directory, O365 Admin, MS Office Suites, Microsoft Endpoint Manager
  • Outstanding communicator, both orally and written
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter who works well independently
  • Ability to prioritize given tasks and work efficiently towards completing them
  • Detail-oriented and exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong problem solver and analytical thinker
  • Professional demeanor


Legal Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass post offer employment testing
  • Ability to pass a post offer drug test
  • Ability to take and pass OSHA 30 certification
  • Ability to travel to construction jobsites within the state of Iowa, Nebraska, and Wisconsin (expected travel 2-3 times a month, no overnights required).
  • This is an onsite role. Must have the ability to report to our Des Moines, IA office Monday - Friday.
