Job description

Process Engineer

Under the general direction of the Manager of Process Engineering, Organizational Excellence, the Process Engineer supports process improvement and implementation initiatives within the Distribution and Configuration Center. This role applies Continuous Improvement and Lean principles to identify and execute opportunities that enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. Responsibilities include reviewing, designing, and implementing production workflows and process layouts for the TIDC to improve productivity, optimize labor utilization, and reduce waste. The Process Engineer also serves as a liaison between the Solutions Engineering Group (SEG) and Lab Operations to ensure new or modified projects are properly established and supported by clear, accurate, and comprehensive work instructions for seamless deployment. In addition, this position monitors TIDC operations to identify opportunities for improved efficiency through enhanced production methods and process designs.

  • Process Improvement and Operational Optimization
  • Identify, develop, and implement process improvements across TIDC departments using Continuous Improvement and Lean principles.
  • Support process and operational optimization initiatives that improve productivity, efficiency, labor utilization, and cost performance.
  • Support the development and review of product, process, and technical specifications across all TIDC verticals.
  • Project Deployment and Engineering Support
  • Partner with the Solutions Engineering Group (SEG) and Lab Operations to ensure new or modified projects are properly established and supported by clear, accurate, and comprehensive work instructions and processes.
  • Assist in the design, procurement, and implementation of custom packaging and palletization solutions using engineering tools and principles.
  • Manage assigned Engineering Project Requests in a timely manner and support successful completion.
  • Stakeholder Communication and Procurement Coordination
  • Coordinate communication among stakeholders, managers, suppliers, and team members regarding technical procurement needs.
  • Communicate material and equipment requirements to TIDC suppliers and internal partners.
  • Prepare and provide status updates, reports, and project communications as needed.

Degree requirements: Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or a combination of an education and experience in Process Engineering related role.

ยท        Advanced technical knowledge of light manufacturing or distribution processes.

ยท        Experience applying Lean Six Sigma principles, including Kaizen, Gemba, Standard Work, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping, to improve process efficiency.

ยท        Strong quantitative analysis and data-driven decision-making skills.

ยท        Proficiency in AutoCAD.

ยท        Engineering design and fabrication experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility.

ยท        Ability to support and drive continuous improvement initiatives across cross-functional teams.

ยท        Ability to use basic and advanced calculations to evaluate current and potential process productivity.

ยท        Strong Microsoft Office skills, including creating presentations, developing Word documents with advanced formatting, and building spreadsheets with macro functionality.

ยท        Ability to adapt and shift priorities in response to changing business needs.

ยท        Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver professional presentations and demonstrations.

ยท        Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical solutions.
