Job description

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD is hiring an IT Process Improvement Analyst to join our IT team. The Process Improvement Analyst is responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing process improvement initiatives across clinical and administrative functions within the Harris Center. The role partners with leadership, clinicians, and administrative teams to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs through data-driven methodologies and continuous improvement practices. The position focuses on enhancing staff efficiency, and quality performance through data-driven decision-making and evidence-based process improvement methodologies.

Your role in Action

  • Process Analysis & Improvement
    Evaluate existing clinical and operational workflows to identify inefficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities.
    Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or PDSA methodologies.
    Map current and future state processes, identifying gaps and recommending sustainable solutions.
    Develop and implement standardized workflows to improve consistency across programs
  • Data Analysis & Performance Monitoring
    Collect, analyze and interpret administrative and healthcare data.
    Develop dashboards, scorecards, and reports to monitor performance and outcomes.
    Track KPIs aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements
  • Project Management
    Lead and manage cross-functional projects from initiation through implementation and evaluation.
    Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables; monitor progress and ensure accountability.
    Ensure initiatives are implemented effectively and sustained over time.
    Support organizational strategic goals.Coordinate with clinical and administrative leadership, compliance, IT and administrative teams to implement changes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Training
    Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and administrative leaders to drive the adoption of improved processes.
    Facilitate workshops, process improvement events and team meetings.
    Provide training and coaching on process improvement tools and methodologies.
    Support change management efforts to improve staff adoption and engagement.
  • Compliance & Quality Improvement
    Ensure alignment with behavioral health regulatory and accreditation standards, including:
    Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
    Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC)
    Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC)
    Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)
    Support audits, corrective action plans, accreditation requirements and quality improvement.

What qualifications you will need:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Psychology, Social Work or Nursing (BSN)
  • Master's degree (MHA, MPH, MSW, MBA or related discipline) preferred.

Experience:

  • 3 years of experience in behavioral health healthcare operations, or quality improvement.
  • Preferred Experience:
    Experience in community mental health, crisis services, outpatient behavioral health, or substance use programs
    Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional improvement projects
    Familiarity with care models such as trauma-informed care, integrated care, and recovery-oriented systems
    Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and behavioral health documentation standards

Required Knowledge, Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA)
  • Ability to interpret behavioral health data and translate insights into action
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills across clinical and non-clinical teams
