Job description

About the Position

Director, Process Excellence โ€“ Newark, NJ (hybrid, 3 days/week in office).

As the Director, Process Excellence, you will enable process excellence by partnering with business to identify end-to-end processes and value streams that are ready to be reimagined. You will shape and guide improvement efforts, coach and enable teams to adopt core process excellence principles, and influence how Prudential operates at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Execute the Process Excellence Playbook across business/value stream stakeholders to identify and prioritize initiatives, sequence them, and deliver results.
  • Facilitate discussions with key stakeholders to deeply understand workflows and opportunities to eliminate waste and improve customer and stakeholder outcomes.
  • Lead crossโ€‘functional workshops to map current processes, uncover inefficiencies, define North Star vision and measurement, and coโ€‘design improved workflows.
  • Coach and activate business/value stream teams to adopt process excellence principles and develop continuous improvement capabilities.
  • Partner with Agile delivery and emerging technology teams to ensure accountability for integrating process improvements.
  • Track and report progress and impact of PEX initiatives, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and accountability, and escalating impediments or critical decisions.
  • Align each value stream initiative with the Enterprise Management System (EMS) to ensure alignment with expected business value outcomes.
  • Support the PEX Team in building and nurturing the community of practice by engaging, developing, and connecting process excellence practitioners across the enterprise.
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree; experience in enterprise transformation, process excellence, continuous improvement, or process redesign initiatives, ideally within financial services, insurance, investment management, or a management consulting environment, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive change across complex organizations.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with experience evaluating process improvement opportunities through costโ€‘benefit analysis, business case development, operational metrics, and measurable value realization.
  • Proven ability to lead structured discovery and design work, including currentโ€‘state analysis and futureโ€‘state process design using dataโ€‘driven methodologies and process mapping techniques.
  • Comfortable working across business and technology teams, with a track record of building strong partnerships.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously across dynamic business environments.
  • Resultsโ€‘oriented mindset with exceptional data analytics skills, deep financial and business performance acumen, and the ability to apply statistical analysis to deliver dataโ€‘driven insights and recommendations.
  • Strong communication and synthesis skills to translate process issues into narratives that resonate with stakeholders across all levels, ensuring detailโ€‘oriented accountability and transparent documentation on progress, KPIs, critical decision points, and impediments.
  • Ability to independently lead across crossโ€‘functional teams of varying levels to achieve timely outcomes for endโ€‘toโ€‘end value streams, including customerโ€‘backed discovery, detailed initiative design, impactโ€‘driven execution, and ongoing continuous improvement.
  • Strong problemโ€‘solving skills rooted in valueโ€‘adding opportunities, with the ability to identify the root cause of issues and true underlying needs.

Preferred qualifications: Lean Six Sigma certification.

Compensation

Salary range: $147,100.00 โ€“ $220,700.00. Marketโ€‘competitive base salary with yearly bonus potential at every level.
