Position Summary: The Financial Analyst I will analyze financial data to support the organization in making informed decisions. This entry-level role demonstrates competence with analytical concepts as well as solid time management skills. They will be able to work with large sets of complex data, and possess basic excel modeling skills. The Financial Analyst I will work independently and in a team environment collaborating with the Finance and Accounting team, the Finance and Operational leadership teams, and various team members across the organization.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily and monthly cash and transaction reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting. Analyze unapplied cash, payment discrepancies and variances providing recommendations for corrective action. Monitor and validate data within the ERP system to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform daily review of retail credit card transactions to ensure accuracy through several software and financial platforms. Conduct data mining to analyze transactions for completeness and accuracy, and partner with IT to resolve issues.
  • Download and review daily bank reports and verify accuracy of receipts. Collaborate with Cash Application Specialists, Credit & Collections and the Accounts Receivable teams to resolve posting issues.
  • Review cash application processes to identify efficiency opportunities and support continuous improvement.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries and associated reports.
  • Engages in and actively volunteers for Continuous Improvement projects/tasks.
  • Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
  • Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Education/Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and 0-2 years of previous experience in finance, accounting, cash application or a related analytical role. Retail knowledge is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze issues. Support the team by gathering information to help analyze data and evaluate various outcomes.
  • Proficiency with advanced Excel skills. Ability to develop pivot tables and v-lookups that bring timesaving enhancements to the team. Experience with various credit card processors such as Authorize.Net, Magento, TSYS, Brinks, and Oracle preferred.
  • Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form. Effective communication skills with cross-functional teams are required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with others in a team environment while supporting team goals.
  • Ability to prioritize priorities, manage deadlines, and handle multiple responsibilities efficiently through use of strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to make good decisions, solve problems, and drive for results; change agent with a strong sense of ownership and intellectual curiosity.

Working Conditions:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.
