POSITION SUMMARY The Field EEG Technologist/Technician position is an In-Home Ambulatory position requiring daily travel to the homes of the patients we serve. This general posting covers multiple career tiers, ranging from entry-level technicians to board-registered (R. EEG T.) senior technologists. Final title, compensation, and clinical scope will be completely Dependent on Experience (DOE).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Set up in-home ambulatory EEG procedures, ensuring accurate electrode application adhering to the International 10โ€“20 System.
  • Assess patient needs, manage setups/disconnects, change batteries, and handle data uploads into the secure system database.
  • Recognize clinically significant events and follow critical test result policies for immediate data escalation.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and eliminate technical recording artifacts and equipment issues independently in the field.
  • Communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and staff to convey the purpose of the EEG and answer questions.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in EEG (more advanced experience and active ABRET registration required for higher Field Tech levels).
  • CPR / BLS certification required.
  • Self-motivating with the strength to work independently, maintain high flexibility, and bring a team-player attitude.
  • Substantial computer literacy and digital equipment troubleshooting skills required.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and active vehicle insurance.

PHYSICAL & PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS

Requires frequent walking, sitting, standing, reaching, and the ability to pull/push greater than 50 lbs.

  • Must possess the visual and auditory acuity necessary to accurately monitor digital activity, input data, and communicate effectively with patients and clinical staff (corrective lenses/hearing devices permitted).
  • Requires the manual dexterity necessary to type and manipulate delicate electrode placement equipment.
  • Requires the ability to concentrate for long periods of time under stressful conditions and still perform properly and effectively.
  • Exposure to fluctuating bright and dim lighting, mechanical hazards, and infectious diseases.
