Job Title: Office Assistant
Company: Zumbro Lutheran Church (ZLC)
Supervisor: Office Manager
Job Type: Part-Time | Non-Exempt
Schedule: 15–20 hours per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Compensation: $20–$25 per hour


Position Overview

Zumbro Lutheran Church (ZLC) is seeking a welcoming, organized, and team-oriented Office Assistant to support the daily operations and ministry of the church. This position plays an important role in creating a positive experience for visitors, supporting church staff, and assisting with administrative and hospitality functions.


Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the receptionist by answering incoming phone calls and greeting office visitors
  • Support weekly hospitality efforts by preparing for events and ensuring group needs are met
  • Provide administrative support to pastors, administrative staff, and ministry program staff
  • Assist with recurring weekly tasks related to Worship, Communications, and Children, Youth & Family ministries
  • Perform regular maintenance and daily upkeep of the church database
  • Assist with mailings including quarterly statements, letters, and other communications
  • Support the Office Manager with record maintenance related to worship, senior worship facilities, Journeying Through Grief, and other administrative needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • A genuine love and respect for people with a strong team-player attitude
  • Ability to handle, transport, and organize materials up to 20 lbs and navigate stairs/multiple levels
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency with email and internet applications
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite including OneDrive, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Database management experience preferred
  • 2-year or 4-year degree preferred
