Entry-Level Cable Technician (Level 1) – Data Center Project

Location: Castroville, TX (On-site)

Duration: 3-Month Contract

Pay Rate: $23.00 – $25.00/hour

Start Date: July 12, 2026


Overview

We are seeking Entry-Level Cable Technicians (Level 1) to support a large-scale data center project for a leading, undisclosed technology client. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in structured cabling and grow within the low-voltage industry.


Key Responsibilities
  • Install, pull, and dress copper and fiber optic cabling (Cat5/Cat6)
  • Label cables and manage materials for installation
  • Assist higher-level technicians with daily tasks
  • Set up and maintain cable pathways (tray, wireway, buss duct)
  • Build and organize telecom closets (racks, patch panels, cross-connects)
  • Perform terminations (110/66 blocks, patch panels)
  • Operate hand and power tools safely
  • Climb ladders and work in elevated or confined spaces
  • Support grounding and installation of equipment as required

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 6 months of cabling experience OR completion of a low-voltage trade school program
  • Basic knowledge of copper/fiber cabling and installation practices
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Reliable transportation
  • Willingness to obtain OSHA 10 certification during onboarding
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in construction or low-voltage environments
  • Familiarity with structured cabling standards and practices

Work Environment
  • Data center / construction setting (client name confidential)
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 40 lbs)
  • Ladder climbing (up to 20 feet)
  • May operate equipment such as lifts or telehandlers
  • Moderate noise levels and physically active role
