Internship Pmt information

What is an internship PMT?

An Internship PMT typically refers to an internship position in Product Management (PMT stands for Product Management Trainee or Product Manager in Training). In this role, interns work alongside experienced product managers to help develop, launch, and refine products or services. They may assist with market research, product strategy, user feedback, and coordination between different teams. The internship provides hands-on experience in how products are built and managed, preparing interns for a future career in product management.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as an internship PMT?

To thrive as an Internship Project Management Trainee, you need foundational knowledge in project management principles, typically supported by ongoing studies in business, management, or a related field. Familiarity with project management tools like Microsoft Project, Trello, or Asana, and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite are often expected. Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills help interns effectively support project goals and collaborate with diverse teams. These skills and qualifications are crucial for successfully assisting project managers and gaining practical experience in a professional setting.

How does an internship PMT typically interact with other departments within an organization?

In an Internship Payment (Pmt.) role, you will frequently collaborate with HR, payroll, and finance teams to process intern stipends or salaries accurately and on time. Clear communication is essential, as you'll often need to clarify payment details, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with internal policies and legal regulations. This position provides a valuable opportunity to develop cross-functional teamwork skills and gain insight into organizational payment processes, which can be a strong foundation for future roles in payroll or finance.

What is the difference between Internship Pmt vs Entry-Level Marketing Coordinator?

Internship Pmt roles are typically short-term, focusing on training and skill development, often requiring minimal formal credentials. While internships serve as a stepping stone, entry-level positions offer more responsibility and stability.

Job description

There’s a universe of opportunity at Amazon.

At Amazon, your career doesn’t follow a straight line. It accelerates, twists, and challenges you in ways you never expected. From the moment you join, you’re part of something big: building products or services that reach millions and shaping how people live, work, and connect every day. This is where your ideas turn into real impact. You’ll work with world class tools, global platforms, and systems built to operate at an extraordinary scale. You’ll move fast, experiment and launch solutions that matter. With endless opportunities to explore across teams and roles, you’ll learn quickly, apply what you know and discover skills you didn’t know existed. This is an environment designed for builders who want to see the impact of their work in the world. Ready to start your adventure?

What’s in it for you?

An internship at Amazon means real responsibility from day one. You’ll build, test, and learn alongside people who want to see you succeed, while making an impact that reaches far beyond campus.

Key job responsibilities
  • Developing and executing scalable business plans and product requirements – being a business owner
  • Driving cross-functional projects to completion
  • Developing strategies based on data analysis
  • Communicating effectively with senior management
  • Maintaining customer focus
  • Balancing strategic thinking with tactical, detailed execution
  • Working cross functionally with teams throughout the company
A day in the life

The primary role of a PMT within Amazon is to assume end-to-end product ownership over one of our technical product offerings. PMTs are expected to dive deep into the technology both from a product and customer perspective, working with software engineers and business partners to define, build, launch and grow new technology-driven products and services. With input from business stakeholders, they develop business and product requirements, prioritize needs, and manage milestones and overall roadmap. Examples of organizations where PMTs may work include (but aren’t limited to): Amazon Web Services (AWS), Prime Video, Alexa, Game Services, and Supply Chain Technologies.

About the team
  • Most roles for this position will be located at Amazon’s company headquarters in Seattle, WA or Arlington, VA. Successful applicants will be expected to relocate to their team location upon starting at Amazon.
  • Role and team placement are based on business needs and as Amazon continues to grow and flex, we are looking for candidates who want to own, build and impact the customer experience rather than are tied to a specific role or team.
  • Internship start dates will be between May-June 2027 for a 12-week, consecutive internship.
  • Currently accepting external applicants only.
Basic Qualifications
  • Are 18 years of age or older
  • Work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to 12 week internship maximum
  • Currently enrolled in MBA program with expected graduation conferral date between December 2027 – June 2028
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of professional work (non-internship) experience
  • Experience representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and working cross-functionally
  • A background in product management, solution design, machine learning applications, and software services is preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
