Position Overview

A leading asset management firm in Boston is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Portfolio Administrator to join their operations team on a contract-to-hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level finance professional to gain hands-on experience supporting portfolio management and investment operations within a highly respected firm.

The Portfolio Administrator will play a key role in supporting daily portfolio activities, ensuring accuracy of investment data, and assisting with trade and cash management processes. This role offers strong exposure to the investment lifecycle and a clear path to long-term career growth within asset management.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio & Investment Support

  • Assist with daily portfolio administration activities, including monitoring holdings, cash balances, and transactions
  • Support portfolio managers and analysts with reporting and data requests
  • Maintain accurate portfolio records across internal systems

Trade & Operations Support

  • Assist with trade processing, settlement tracking, and reconciliation of trades
  • Monitor cash activity and ensure proper allocation of funds
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to trades or portfolio balances

Reconciliation & Reporting

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly account and portfolio reconciliations
  • Support preparation of internal and client-facing reports
  • Ensure data integrity across portfolio accounting systems

Data Management & Controls

  • Maintain and update investment data, including pricing, securities, and reference data
  • Assist in identifying process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Adhere to internal controls and operational procedures

Team Collaboration

  • Work cross-functionally with portfolio management, trading, compliance, and operations teams
  • Provide support on ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required

Experience

  • Internship or 0โ€“2 years of experience in finance, accounting, or investment operations
  • Exposure to asset management, banking, or financial services is a plus
