Amentum is seeking a talented Entry Level Software Engineer/Software Developer to support the Naval Research Operations. The Entry Level Software Engineer will be developing software on an Agile Software Development team of 7 or less developers to create software for a current Naval program. Create Software or convert code from either C++, Matlab, Java or Python to C++, Python or other language to streamline and modernize software for Naval Research systems and naval research technology. Entry Level Software Engineer/Software Developer Responsibilities Include: * Develop and/or verify software system specifications and requirements documentation, develop support system software capabilities, features, or enhancements. * Plans, performs, and lead software design, coding, and testing. * Work with customers and engineers in an adaptive Agile environment, build and maintaining the latest Sim/Stim development tools, helping expand our M&S capability. * Primary work location will be in Fredericksburg, VA or Dahlgren, VA with occasional telecommute or travel opportunities. Minimum Qualifications and experience: * Bachelor's Degree (in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or Physics) * Experience with and proficient with at least one of the following Object-oriented programming (OOP) languages: C/C++, C Sharp (C#), Java, or Python. * Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance (at a minimum, must receive/be approved for an interim Secret security clearance in order to start) Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance. Preferred Qualifications: * C++, Python, or Java experience.; Any DOD experience in programs or operations. Compensation Details:
