Graphic Packaging International Inc. is currently seeking extrusion operators for our Prosperity, SC facility located in Newberry County.
As an extruder operator, you will be trained to support the extrusion line. You will have flexibility to learn multiple jobs. Operators are initially assigned to the unwind, winder, or the scale. The operator's main function is to safely and efficiently operate the Extrusion equipment within the standard guidelines, meeting maximum output rates and monitoring the extrusion process.
Job Duties
  • Operate extruder to produce rolls that conform to all quality and profile specifications.
  • Responsible for accurately completing and processing all documents necessary for tracking extrusion operations.
  • Make process changes and roll changes.
  • Inspecting quality during the extrusion process and/or finished rolls.
  • Communicate pertinent information at shift change.
  • Understand and practice all safety procedures and rules.
  • Know the locations of and how to operate emergency stop buttons and fire extinguishers in your area.
  • Provide relief to other team members as necessary.
  • Follow standard operating procedures.

The facility operates on a 5 day schedule, with 3 - 8 hour shifts beginning Sunday night with 3rd shift and ending Friday night with 2nd shift.
We have opportunities on 2nd shift (3pm - 11p) 3rd shift (11pm - 7am).
Starting pay is $20.37 per hour with a $1.75 per hour shift differential for 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) and $1.50 for 3rd shift (11pm - 7am).
We offer wage progression, for every position you certify in you will move up to the next level of progression and as a result your pay increases.

  • Must be able to work additional hours (overtime) as needed
  • Reading computer screens or electronic devices

Required Skills
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Mechanical/Technical aptitude
  • Ability to read a tape measure to increments as small as a 1/32 or learn how to read a tape measure
  • Entry Level Computer skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly; written and verbally
  • You will be required to wear steel toes shoes, hair and/or beard nets, safety glasses and earplugs at a minimum

1-2 years of stable manufacturing experience preferred.
A background check and a drug screen are required for employment.
