Location: Aberdeen, Md
Full-Time | Entry-Level
About the position:
The Water and Wastewater Plant Operator Trainee will assist in the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment facilities. This is an entry-level position designed to provide on-the-job training and prepare the candidate for certification as a licensed operator.
This position does require that you obtain an MDE Certification within the first 4 years of employment.
Position requires working a rotating shift schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn and assist in the operation of water and wastewater treatment processes.
- Monitor plant equipment and systems to ensure proper functioning.
- Collect and analyze water samples for quality control.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
- Record operational data and prepare reports as required.
- Follow safety protocols and comply with environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work in outdoor and indoor environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions.
