Job description


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Job Ticket Review- Review the job ticket and case packing specification for the current job on the assigned machine. Ensure crew on machine understands the necessary information to run the job.
  • Setup of the gluer machine so that it can fold and apply glue to the cartons to the customers specification. This includes leading any prework required by the crew to make sure all the materials, parts, and tools are available as needed.
  • Maintain target speed while running gluer machine, keeping waste to a minimum.
  • Ensure line clearance procedures are followed between orders and different items on the same order.
  • Checks for defects by pulling stacks of cartons off machine to inspect that cartons are being pre-broke, folded, glued, and packed according to specification.
  • Ensures Machine is running in good condition.
  • Correct any issues found on the machine causing quality defects in cartons.
  • Work with Leads to determine if non-conforming materials should be sorted or scrapped.
  • Maintain good housekeeping around machine.
  • Palletizes as needed
  • Documents maintenance report, log sheet, QA checks and production
  • Provides relief for breaks as needed
  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to all GMP, safety, food safety, SQF, HACCP and food defense procedures (training will be provided)
  • Any other reasonable request from management

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Must be flexible; willing to work other shifts, overtime and weekends
  • Standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) carrying (up to 50 lbs.), pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, visual acuity (Near and Far).
  • Stack of carton typically weighing up to 35lbs pounds taken from press at waist level and packed in box.
  • Possess a strong work ethic
  • Desire to work additional hours(overtime).

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Two years or more of recent manufacturing or machine operator work experience & mechanical aptitude,.
  • Prior experience working with Gluer Machines (ex Bobst)
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Mechanical/technical aptitude
  • Entry Level Computer skills
