Job description

We are Weyerhaeuser Distribution, a building products company. Our distribution facility is located in Dacula, Georgia, which is an hour north outside of Atlanta.  We are one of the largest building material distributors in the North Atlanta market. We take great pride in servicing our customers in a safe and team-based environment.  The primary activities in our operations department include unloading railcars/trucks of building materials, cycle counting, storing materials, breaking full units down into custom orders, and loading outbound trucks.    

We're looking to hire talented people that are interested in getting trained in our business.  We currently have an opening for an Entry Level Forklift Operator & Order Puller (Trainee). This role will work on the day shift and require regular movement throughout the day, which means regular periods of standing, sitting, walking, and sliding/moving up to 100 pounds, and even driving heavy equipment outdoors in all types of weather.  

Under the direction of the Site Manager, this role will focus on safely moving our product for our customers.  We want talented people with at least a high school diploma, that have a drive to perform and a commitment to safety.  From there, we will safely train them to pick and pull orders and operate a forklift to efficiently load and move product for our customers.

The starting pay rate is $19.03 per hour. The shift would start at 7:00AM and will end at 6:00PM.  There is room for some overtime and you can also drive your base pay rate higher, as you master more and more skills. Medical, dental and gainsharing benefits will also apply for all.

  • Willing to work outside, regularly moving, in the elements five days a week and occasional weekends
  • Ability to continuously work while standing, sitting, and driving equipment throughout the day.
  • Ability to work, while lifting up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work, while moving and sliding up to 100lbs
  • Basic computer skills

Required Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3 years of Forklift experience
  • Experience handling building materials (lumber, plywood, Siding products & decking products) preferred
  • 3 years warehouse distribution experience (picking orders and receiving product)
  • A proven track record of successful performance at school and work
