Job description

Holiday Market is seeking entry level Cake Decorators and experienced Bakers with a minimum of 2 years of experience. This is a fast-paced position in a high production bakery. We are looking for full-time and part-time employees. Pay starts at $16/hour and ranges based on experience.

A portfolio of decorated cakes is required to apply for a designer position along with a bench test.

Cake Decorator/Baker Responsibilities

  • Mixing, preparing, and baking pastries.
  • Making sure orders are prepared correctly and efficiently.
  • Making sure all baked goods needed for orders are always on hand.
  • Recommend new recipes to renew our menu and attract more customers (e.g. gluten free and current trends).
  • Producing our vegan dessert line.
  • Tracking food supply inventory and informing management when an order needs to be placed.

Cake Decorator/Baker Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to read and follow recipes.
  • Good organizational skills and multitasking.
  • Must be able to adhere to health and safety regulations. Servsafe certification is recommended.
  • Must have schooling or be actively enrolled in a culinary arts program OR have 1 or more years of experience in a cake producing bakery.
  • Ability to read and follow recipes.
