Job Description:

The Apparel Sales Associate at Edwin Watts Golf Shops is responsible for promoting and maintaining a store culture that is consistent with Worldwide Golf’s values, including the “Sure No Problem” philosophy. This philosophy has made Worldwide Golf what it is today. "Sure No Problem" means putting the customer first, and doing whatever we can to ensure a memorable and positive customer experience. 

The Apparel Sales Associate provides the customer with an exceptional shopping experience at our golf store, facilitating the shopping experience through pleasant greeting and engagement. They will also assist in the execution of all in-store visual merchandising, including signage and displays. Job responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a general awareness of all golf product knowledge, terminology, merchandise, promotions, demo merchandise and sale advertisements, while also maintaining the flexibility to work in different departments as needed.

  • Maintain the flow of product to the sales floor from the store receiving areas and assist with markdown and clearance management for areas per company guidelines.

  • Evaluate customers’ needs, make recommendations, and apply apparel knowledge to help the customer in the decision-making process

  • Research merchandise availability via computer database; requisitioning merchandise from stockroom and taking inventory of stock where needed.

  • Maintain database and file shipping/receiving records for the department.

  • Once fully trained, recognize and suggest ways to improve processes.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Ability to spend work time standing or moving about the departments within the store. Physical activities include bending, stooping, lifting (up to 15 pounds), carrying, walking and/or reaching on a frequent basis.

  • Ability to tag, hang, and sensor merchandise.

  • Have a working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, inventory, internet and order processing systems.

  • Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.

Qualifications Desired:

  • 1+ years of experience working in the retail, apparel, or golf industry is preferred (entry-level candidates will also be considered!)

  • Golf knowledge/background is a plus but not required
