Wages:  New Hires: Entry level rate $16.39/hr.; Current employees in the bargaining unit: Please refer to the salary schedule established by the applicable bargaining group

Duties & Responsibilities:  (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)

  • Will work collaboratively with teachers in MTSS to assist in the success of all students
  • Will teach, model, and support PBIS in all building situations
  • Will work with students in skills room
  • Ability to work with ALL students
  • Computer skills are necessary to input data into student data system and manipulate spreadsheets
  • With classroom teachers, establish a positive learning environment while maintaining a structured setting
  • Assist with and support classroom teacher with instruction
  • Work collaboratively with teachers using developmentally appropriate practices, including following teacher's direction for instruction
  • Assist teacher in monitoring students' progress by keeping necessary records and giving feedback as requested
  • A willingness to work with students in a positive manner will help develop and/or enhance the practice of self-discipline.  Applicants should have the ability to resolve conflicts.  Must be able to communicate and relate to students in a non-threatening and friendly manner.
  • Maintain patience and positive interpersonal skills with all students.
  • Walk hallways during class time and/or during passing time, reporting any issues to office staff
  • Communicate with instructional staff daily regarding instruction and student issues
  • A successful candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each student reaches his/her full potential
  • Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully
  • Skilled, understands and utilizes MTSS or willingness to be trained/knowledgeable
  • Skilled, understands and utilizes PBIS or willingness to be trained/knowledgeable
  • Other duties as assigned by building administrator

  • Must be able to stand for a period of time
  • Must be able to walk for extended period of time
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull 50 lbs
