Position:  Assistant Superintendent


POSITION SUMMARY

Barton Malow is seeking an Assistant Construction Superintendent to join our team in Macon, Georgia, supporting a major sports and entertainment project. The Superintendent is responsible for supervising and coordinating Barton Malow team members and contractors to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans and specifications-ultimately delivering a highquality product for the owner.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


Assist with developing work scopes and frontend documents for bidding to create clear and concise scopes of work. Support bid processes, including participation in postbid interviews and responding to bidder questions. Identify qualified contractors based on project requirements and ability to perform the intended scope.

Enforce corporate safety policies on the jobsite, including pretask safety planning, while maintaining primary responsibility for field safety compliance.

Organize and manage the daytoday onsite field labor force.

Supervise, coordinate, and sequence contractor work to minimize interference between trades and maintain efficient project flow.

Assist the Project Manager with overall budget management and forecasting by helping control costs and monitoring potential contractor changes, including time and materials.

Develop site logistics plans for the entire project to maximize productivity and minimize impacts to surrounding facilities and occupants.

 


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Minimum of 1 year of direct supervision of construction projects, including trade coordination.

4year technical or engineering degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong ability to effectively communicate with all team members, including contractors, architects, and owners.

Ability to negotiate and professionally manage conflicts and confrontations.

Demonstrated knowledge of construction principles, practices, methods, performance standards, environmental regulations, and workplace safety.

Market experience may include higher education, aerospace, sports facilities, and/or healthcare.
