Location: Wyoming, MN


The Dead End Hayride is seeking a highly skilled, creative, and driven Builder / Project Manager to help lead the future of one of the nations largest haunted attractions. This is a full-time, year-round position for someone who thrives in large-scale themed construction, immersive environments, and problem solving under pressure.

We are looking for an experienced builder and project leader who can take projects from concept through completion while maintaining high standards in craftsmanship, safety, organization, and execution.


Position Overview:

This role is responsible for overseeing and participating in the design, planning, construction, installation, maintenance, and ongoing development of large-scale haunted attraction sets, structures, scenic environments, and immersive guest experiences.


The ideal candidate has experience in construction, themed entertainment, fabrication, project management, or a related field and understands how to balance creativity with functionality, timelines, budgets, and safety requirements.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage large-scale build projects from concept through completion
  • Construct scenic environments, haunted attractions, themed structures, facades, props, and immersive experiences
  • Read and interpret plans, layouts, measurements, and construction concepts
  • Coordinate materials, timelines, labor needs, and project priorities
  • Work alongside ownership and creative teams to bring concepts to life
  • Operate tools, equipment, lifts, utility vehicles, and construction machinery safely
  • Ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high-quality standard
  • Maintain organized workspaces, shop areas, tools, and inventory
  • Troubleshoot structural, operational, and build-related issues
  • Assist with seasonal maintenance, repairs, tear down, and future expansion projects
  • Work independently when needed while also collaborating within a team environment
  • Communicate professionally with vendors, contractors, inspectors, and leadership


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in construction, carpentry, fabrication, scenic design, themed entertainment, or project management
  • Strong understanding of building methods, materials, and structural problem solving
  • Experience working with permits, inspections, and code compliance is highly preferred
  • Ability to think creatively and develop out-of-the-box solutions
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, physically demanding environments
  • Leadership experience managing projects and crews
  • Ability to adapt quickly and pivot when challenges arise
  • Experience with haunted attractions, entertainment production, events, or immersive experiences is a major plus
