Job Description
Role: Volunteer- Mobile Game Production Mentor
We are seeking a Volunteer Mobile Game Production Mentor to join our Flight of the Fluffle Community Game Project. It's a mobile game where players collect power ups, gain altitude and defeat monsters in a new take on a classic endless runner adventure. You will mentor the game development team to understand the requirements, translating design ideas and concepts to build an engaging game.
Responsibilities
  • Guides game development team from ideation to post-launch support
  • Takes ownership of entire features, components and manages the full product/game life cycle
  • Tracks and implements improvement plans to drive efficiency
  • Provides technical assistance for modeling and mechanics of the game
  • Manages a direct staff of project leaders and mentoring/supporting junior level leadership within the department
  • Takes pride in developing and growing team members
  • Practices growth mindset in mentoring and supporting the team members
  • Partner with other departments, this role requires a candidate with excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a good team ethic to unify a common vision

Requirements
  • Volunteer a minimum of 2-4 hrs. per week at your convenience for at least 6 months
  • Strong project and people management skills
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership or project management role
  • 5+ Experience with programming in C#
  • 5+ Experience with full-cycle mobile game development with Unity
  • An understanding and appreciation for project schedule and deadlines, and efficient game development processes
  • Has made mobile games, released them into the wild and had successful launches
  • Have shipped at least one title or more
  • Actively foresees risks, manages timely communication, and mitigates with stakeholders
