Responsibilities
Under general supervision, the Underwriting Assistant is responsible for assisting and supporting underwriters with quoting, rating and issuance of new business, renewals and endorsements. This position also responds to problem situations from brokers and performs customer service tasks as needed.
This role is located in our Irving, TX headquarter on a hybrid basis.
  • Perform multi-line policy rating across all states using the policy issuance system and/or Rackley.
  • Review incoming submissions and subsequent documents for completeness, along with class of business, branch code and other required information
  • Collaborate with Underwriters and brokers to obtain necessary information.
  • Process quotes and issuing policies in policy issuance system in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ensure policies are issued based upon the terms and conditions outlined in binders.
  • Participate as needed in systems and workflow development as required.
  • Monitor daily workload to determine if established timelines are obtainable and work with management as issues arise.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • 2-3 years of experience in commercial multi-line rating.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance and policy issuance systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong customer service orientation & teamwork collaboration skills.
  • Excellent decision making skills required.
  • Knowledge of AMS Rackley is a plus.
  • Experience working in a paperless environment is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated accountability and ability to adjust to new situations and changing priorities with minimal impact to daily responsibilities.
