Job description

Almac Group is currently seeking an Engineering Project Manager for our Durham, NC location. The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for the planning, management, coordination, delivery and financial control of engineering projects while maintaining a compliant state which supports each of the Almac Business Unit’s Service Level Agreement.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Establish through consultation with project stakeholders the project requirements, scope of work and major project milestones, and thus determine mutually agreeable project objectives.
  • Initiate inquiries with vendors, evaluate proposals and prepare accurate and realistic budget estimates and milestone project programs for the purpose of gaining approval to acquire capital funds by management.
  • Organize contractor testing, support the development and execution of the commissioning documentation, and support the validation of new facilities and equipment, assuring quality assurance, environmental, health and safety factors.
  • Liaise with external consultants, engineers and contractors during the project execution ensuring all work carried out by them is within the requirements of the overall project remit.
  • Support procurement process and supplier/contractor selection without bias in order to determine the optimal economic and technical solution for the business, and support the preparation of appointment and contract documentation.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any engineering discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of having lead and successfully executed complex large scale projects within the pharmaceutical or related GMP environment.
  • Extensive experience of project delivery through the application of comprehensive project management process.
Preferred:
  • Professional Engineer
  • Recognized H amp;S qualification; ideally OSHA or NEBOSH certification program.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities and processes
  • Experience in commissioning and qualification activities.
  • Knowledge of engineering standards and best practice.
  • Knowledge of process safety management.
Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Products, particularly in programming, managing, and reporting on projects utilizing MS Project/Excel.
  • Strong presentation skills: is comfortable presenting information to others at varying organizational levels
  • Possess problem-solving and customer oriented attitudes.
  • Proficient technical writing skills
  • Exceptional written and oral communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking toward decision making
  • Excellent attention to detail.
