What's in it for you:
The Trane Contracting Engineering & Estimating Program Manager is responsible for defining, developing, and deploying development programs, including standard work, advanced training, onboarding programs, and assessments to support Energy Services and Controls growth. The role will utilize Voice of Customer/Field, market and competitive analysis to assess needs and define business requirements, as well as manage field teams, schedule, and A3 process to lead program development and deployment across Trane's field offices. It includes the creation and/or coordination of all deliverables, necessary tools, documentation, and support materials. The position must be able to successfully manage multiple projects through the development process, culminating in improved contracting profitability, productivity, and customer satisfaction.The role works closely with all Contracting Enablement Business Product Owners to guide development of applications through Voice of Customer/Field representation.

What you will do:

  • Create the standard work and development tools for the Controls Engineering Specialist and Controls Estimating roles, including career path, skills assessment, and onboarding programs.

  • Maintain, grow and enhance established programs, channels and field councils

  • Apply knowledge of the contracting engineering and estimating processes, controls systems, products, and tools to initiate and manageprojects, including proficient use of standard project management skills and lean tools.

  • Lead teams to design and develop deployment materials including presentations, workshops, and control plans.

  • Work closely with Contracting Application Business Owners, representing VOC and presentation

  • Support Regional business leaders by coordinating activities and initiatives across business streams.

  • Create and deliver presentations to all Contracting employees, including Executive Leadership.

  • Create process maps and narratives to communicate process workflows and fulfill business needs.

  • Clearly communicate project status verbally and in writing.

  • Interface with Regional Teams as well as other organizations within Energy Services and Controls,Sales, and Field Operations.

  • Meet short and long term deadlines to achieve project goals.

  • Provide program management through post-launch and control plan execution.

  • Mentor estimators and engineering specialists on skills, contracting business, and communication.

  • Percentage of Travel: 20-25%, Ability to travel domestically 5-6 trips per year, for quarterly and project- related meetings

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 5 years of contracting experience required OR 10 years of work experience in the contracting business process or management.

  • Project management experience with a proven track record of managing through deployment and transition.

  • Proficient use of lean tools including, A3s, affinity diagrams and FMEAs, and leader standard work.

  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to widely varied audiences.

  • Instructional design/development experience, or equivalent, preferred.

  • Strong experience in planning and team management.

  • Must have strong financial and business acumen and a history of running projects on time and on budget.

  • Effective skills in leading teams and facilitating training in a virtual environment.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to facilitate in a large group setting

  • Experience working directly with field subject matter experts

  • Must be able to travel nationally

  • Must maintain a regular work schedule and be self-motivated as part of a geographically dispersed remote team.

  • Self-motivated, willing to take initiative, able to function effectively in independent and team-based situations.

  • Demonstrated project management, time management, planning, organizational and analytical skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of management.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to lead by example and positively influence and inspire others to meet challenging goals.
