Position Summary

Manages activities related to test engineering including staffing, scheduling, coordinating, and planning. Sets direction of and develops appropriate testing criteria, equipment, tools, and metrics required to make a quality product. Works across functions as required ensuring that testing is in place at all appropriate steps in the development and build process.

Position Responsibilities
  • Organizes and coordinates various sections of test engineering.
  • Plans and establishes test engineering schedules and checks actual performance data against estimates.
  • Recommends new policies or procedures as necessary.
  • Manages assembly of cost control and statistical data and the development of material selection standards.
  • Approves process specification and design standards.
  • Prepares and controls departmental annual budget.
  • Responsible for managing the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of testing procedures and strategies for products, systems, components, or modifications.
  • Acts as advisor to test engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations and acts as a liaison to other engineering functions.
  • Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.

  • Familiar with test concepts, practices and procedures
  • Strong reasoning skills based on previous engineering experience
  • Thorough understanding of the market and competitive landscape
  • Understands the basics of managing technical people
Position Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in engineering; test engineering and leadership experience preferred.

  • Requires walking, standing, bending and lifting for long periods of time
  • Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer
