Position: Housekeeping Supervisor
Department: Housekeeping
Reports To: Executive Housekeeper / General Manager
Job Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations to ensure guest rooms and public areas meet brand standards for cleanliness, safety, and presentation. This role supervises housekeeping staff, coordinates room readiness with the Front Desk, and ensures consistent quality, productivity, and guest satisfaction.
Essential Duties amp; Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support housekeeping team members, including room attendants and housepersons
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces for cleanliness and quality standards
  • Ensure rooms are cleaned and ready in accordance with hotel occupancy and arrival schedules
  • Communicate room status updates with the Front Desk and Management
  • Train new team members on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and brand standards
  • Address and resolve housekeeping-related guest concerns promptly and professionally
  • Assign daily work schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels
  • Monitor productivity, supplies, and linen usage
  • Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and chemical handling guidelines
  • Report maintenance issues and coordinate with Engineering
  • Assist with inventory control of housekeeping supplies and equipment
  • Enforce company policies, SOPs, and brand standards consistently
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous hotel housekeeping experience preferred
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and coach a diverse team
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as needed
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25–30 lbs. Ability to inspect rooms thoroughly and perform light cleaning duties when needed.
