This is a hybrid commercial–technical role designed for a candidate with strong technical or automation experience, someone who is interested in learning a specialized filtration niche and growing into a full Sales Engineering role over time.

The position is intentionally structured as a progressive ramp, beginning with sales support and business development activities and evolving into full-cycle sales ownership. The role combines hands-on customer engagement, technical application support, and sales execution, with close mentorship from senior team members.

Core Responsibilities (Ongoing Across All Phases)

  • Work closely with the Senior Sales Leader and Application Engineering to support the development of filtration products and systems
  • Booking and support of spare parts requests, and will assist in the development of aftermarket package offerings
  • Provide BDR-style outreach to dormant accounts and stalled or inactive deals
  • Perform pre-qualification of inbound leads, ensuring only qualified opportunities advance into the pipeline
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline updates (HubSpot)
  • Serve as a technical-commercial bridge between customers, engineering, and sales leadership

Role Progression, Responsibilities & Compensation

Step 1: Business Development / Sales Support (Months 0–3)

Base Salary: $60,000

Focus: Market immersion, lead generation, and internal enablement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute outreach to dormant accounts and early-stage prospects
  • Support spare parts inquiries and transactional customer requests
  • Pre-qualify inbound leads and coordinate follow-up
  • Develop foundational understanding of filtration products, systems, and applications
  • Work closely with Brian for daily coaching and feedback

Step 2: Senior BDR / Pre-Sales Support (Months 3–6)

Base Salary: $70,000

Focus: Deeper customer engagement and technical-commercial support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support opportunity qualification and early proposal development
  • Participate in customer calls and meetings alongside senior sales leadership
  • Begin translating customer needs into preliminary technical solution concepts
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate automation and filtration solutions clearly

Step 3: Junior Sales Engineer (Months 6–12)

Base Salary: $80,000

Focus: Transition into a customer-facing technical sales role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in customer site visits and technical discussions
  • Support application engineering for filtration products and systems with Senior Sales and Application Engineering
  • Assist with quoting, system configuration, and proposal development
  • Manage defined opportunities under supervision
  • Deepen technical expertise in filtration and automation integration

Step 4: Sales Engineer (12+ Months)

Base Salary: $95,000 + commission + car allowance

Focus: Full-cycle sales ownership and account growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage sales opportunities from lead generation through close
  • Develop strategic account plans
  • Drive new customer acquisition and expansion of existing accounts
  • Serve as primary technical-commercial contact for customers

Ideal Candidate Profile

Background & Experience

  • Applicant should have a strong technical, automation, or industrial systems experience who wants to learn a new, specialized industry
  • Interest in sales, customer engagement, and long-term growth into a Sales role
  • Prior filtration or process equipment experience is helpful but not required

Attributes

  • Comfortable operating in a hybrid role that blends sales support, technical work, and customer interaction
  • Organized, proactive, and coachable
  • Strong communicator who can work effectively with both customers and internal teams
  • Demonstrated ability to grow into increasing responsibility over time
