An elementary assistant principal, also referred to as a vice principal, is an educational administrator in an elementary school who generally takes on the role of the disciplinarian. The purpose of this role is to help move students toward positive actions and behaviors and away from negative ones. As an elementary school assistant principal, you are often in charge of carrying out decisions that the principal makes and are also heavily involved with the community, teachers, parents, and students. Other duties of this job might include assisting in schedule planning, creating and implementing a budget, and acting as a direct supervisor to teaching faculty.
