Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

This posting is for an experienced Engineering Manager - Electrical who will lead a multidisciplinary team of Electrical Engineers in the design, development, and lifecycle management of high-density liquid cooling systems for mission-critical data center environments. This Engineering Manager will provide technical and operational leadership across global electrical design, systems integration, validation, and manufacturing support while ensuring compliance with electrical standards (UL, CSA, CE). The role operates in a global, matrixed environment with distributed teams, driving governance and continuous improvement for high-density liquid cooling products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and develop a global multidisciplinary electrical engineering team supporting design, delivery, and lifecycle management of high-density liquid cooling solutions
  • Provide day-to-day technical and operational leadership across product development, systems integration, sustaining engineering, and manufacturing support
  • Drive execution of design validation, testing, and configuration control processes
  • Partner with operations and quality teams to support production and resolve technical issues
  • Oversee new product introduction (NPI), product transfers, and change management activities including global manufacturing alignment and buy vs. make decisions
  • Review and approve engineering designs, documentation, and deviations
  • Establish and maintain robust engineering documentation including Bills of Materials, routings, and process flows
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles
  • Lead capital planning and equipment strategy including justification, acquisition, and implementation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, supply chain, and leadership teams
  • Monitor performance metrics and operational trends, implementing corrective actions
  • Lead development of electrical engineering standards for high-density liquid cooling globally
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
  • Develop team capability through hiring, coaching, performance management, and training
  • Provide clear communication and reporting to senior leadership on engineering performance, risks, and project status

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Manufacturing, Test, Fabrication, or other technical area
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a management role
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering or related fields (Data Center, Industrial, Automotive, Telecommunications, or Electrical Power preferred)
  • Strong focus on NPI and product manufacturing
  • Fluency in English (read, write, speak)
  • Proficiency with electrical design tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, CREO 4.0, or similar
  • Knowledge of NEC (NFPA79), UL 508A/SB, and/or UL Standards for HVAC systems
  • Experience with Design for Six Sigma and other quality tools
  • Advanced MS Office skills with strong PowerPoint proficiency

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Business, Manufacturing, and/or Technology
  • Experience with MRP or enterprise systems in engineering or manufacturing
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics, PCB design, power electronics, and system integration
  • Knowledge of UL60335-2-40 or equivalent CSA/UL standards
  • Hands-on experience with electrical testing, validation, and compliance standards
