About The Role

Are you a compassionate and dedicated mental health professional looking to make a meaningful impact? National Counseling Group (NCG),is seeking a Clinical Assessment Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in the client care journey by conducting Comprehensive Needs Assessments (CNAs), completing intake documentation, and accurately populating client profiles within the Electronic Health Record (EHR). You will collaborate with guardians, service providers, and Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) to coordinate services, manage referrals, and facilitate service authorizations. As a key point of communication, you’ll provide timely support to internal teams and leadership, ensuring that all assessments, documentation, and follow-ups are completed with precision and care. As a Clinical Assessment Specialist, you will provide:

  • Assessments and Intake:
    • Conduct Comprehensive Needs Assessments (CNA) with clients and guardians (if applicable).
    • Complete intake forms, including obtaining appropriate releases of information.
    • Write and document CNA narratives in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
    • Populate client profiles in the EHR, including diagnoses, medications, allergies, and other critical information.
  • Service Coordination:
    • Collaborate with associated professionals involved in the client’s care.
    • Recommend appropriate services based on the CNA findings.
    • Complete the referral management workflow and service authorization process.
    • Submit Service Authorization Forms via appropriate channels (e.g., MCO portals).
  • Communication and Support:
    • Respond promptly to all emails and voicemails.
    • Interact with MCO Care Coordinators for service justifications and additional information requests.
    • Notify leadership and authorization specialists upon completion of assessments.
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • Participate in team meetings and case staffing with supervisors.
    • Maintain office hours to assist clinical teams with completing assessments and authorizations.
    • Ensure timely uploading and addressing of relevant documents in the EHR.

Compensation

This role is compensated on a variable rate model, designed to reward productivity while providing consistent earning opportunity through established referral volume. 

  • Compensation: $54,373 - $73,494

Placement within the range is based on licensure level, education, and experience.

This is a variable rate non-exempt position with unlimited earning potential.  Your effort drives your earnings, no limits.  

What You Can Expect
  • Conduct client assessments by completing Comprehensive Needs Assessments (CNAs), intake paperwork, and documenting information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Coordinate client care by working with families, providers, and Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) to recommend services and manage referrals and authorizations.
  • Communicate with care teams by responding to emails and calls, providing updates, and collaborating with leadership and clinical staff.
  • Maintain accurate documentation by keeping client records up to date, attending team meetings, and ensuring all required paperwork is completed on time.

Qualifications
  • Education and Licensure:
    • Must be a Resident in Counseling or hold a full Mental Health license (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT).
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Proficiency in G-Suite and EHR systems.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
