Ecosystem Development information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Ecosystem Development professional, and why are they important?

To thrive in Ecosystem Development, you need expertise in partnership management, business development, and strategic planning, often supported by a background in business, marketing, or related fields. Familiarity with CRM systems, data analytics tools, and industry-specific platforms is typically required. Exceptional networking, communication, and negotiation skills help build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders. These abilities are crucial for expanding the organization's reach, fostering innovation, and driving sustainable growth within complex business environments.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in Ecosystem Development roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in Ecosystem Development often face the challenge of aligning diverse stakeholders, such as startups, corporations, and public organizations, toward common goals. Navigating differing priorities and communication styles can be complex, requiring strong relationship-building and facilitation skills. To address these challenges, it's important to establish clear communication channels, set shared objectives early, and foster a collaborative environment through regular check-ins and transparent reporting. Proactively seeking feedback and being adaptable to evolving needs can also enhance the success of ecosystem initiatives.

What is ecosystem development?

Ecosystem development refers to the process of creating and nurturing a network of interconnected organizations, individuals, and resources that work together to drive growth, innovation, and sustainability within a specific industry or sector. Professionals in this field focus on building partnerships, supporting startups, facilitating collaboration, and creating opportunities for stakeholders to connect and thrive. The goal is to create a healthy environment where businesses, institutions, and communities can collectively advance shared objectives and adapt to changing market needs.

Job description

About NexHealth
Our healthcare system remains frustratingly analog. When you live in a world of one-tap car rides, instant meal delivery, and unlimited streaming, why do you still have to call to schedule a doctor's appointment and fill out a clipboard in the waiting room?
NexHealth's mission is to accelerate innovation in healthcare by connecting patients, providers, and developers. We're building the infrastructure layer for modern healthcare, connecting thousands of fragmented, on-premise, and closed EHR systems into a single, modern platform that powers software, APIs, payments, and patient experiences across the ecosystem.
  • Founded: 2017
  • Headquarters: San Francisco, CA
  • Funding: $177M Series C
  • Employees: 200+
  • Trusted by tens of thousands of providers and hundreds of health-tech developers - forging the infrastructure layer that modern healthcare needs

About the Role
We're looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our Enterprise Sales team and fuel our growth in the upper end of the market. You'll work with a small group of AEs and Marketers targeting our top enterprise accounts using a highly strategic, account-based approach.
This is not your typical spray-and-pray SDR role. You'll be deeply embedded in a coordinated GTM team, crafting custom messaging, acting on buying signals, and generating pipeline in some of our highest-potential accounts.
What You'll Do
  • Partner with a dedicated AE to drive outbound activity across a defined book of Tier 1 and Tier 2 strategic accounts
  • Execute structured outbound campaigns across email, phone, LinkedIn, and marketing-generated leads
  • Leverage tools like SFDC, Hubspot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Apollo to prioritize and personalize outreach
  • Track account engagement signals and respond to real-time interest from marketing campaigns
  • Set qualified meetings that turn into high-quality opportunities
  • Contribute to team strategy and provide feedback on messaging, content, and campaign effectiveness

What You'll Bring
  • 1-3 years of SDR/BDR experience in a B2B SaaS environment
  • Ability to write thoughtful, concise, and compelling outreach messages
  • Experience with outbound tools (e.g., Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Nav, etc.)
  • Comfort engaging VP- and C-level stakeholders
  • A curious and growth-oriented mindset

Bonus Points For
  • Experience selling to healthcare organizations or tech platforms
  • Familiarity with ABM tools like 6sense, Demandbase, or Terminus
  • Prior experience in an enterprise or account-based motion

Compensation
Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed below is the total target cash compensation (TTCC) and includes base compensation and variable compensation in the form of commissions. Variable compensation type is determined by your role and level. Other benefits may include stock options, an unlimited paid time off policy, and up to 100% coverage on medical, vision and dental insurance.
NexHealth Compensation Range
$65,000-$105,000 USD
Benefits
  • Full Medical, Dental, and Vision (up to 100% covered)
  • 401K and commuter benefits
  • Flexible PTO
  • High-impact work that directly improves the healthcare experience for millions

Our Values
  • Solve the customer's problems, not yoursWhen making decisions, think from the perspective of the customer. It's easy to make decisions that make our lives simpler, but not the customers.
  • Do the things others are not willing to doAs a Nexer, always go after the hardest problems. Pursue things at the highest quality. Move at the fastest pace.
  • Take ownershipAct like a founder. Own your roles, destinies, mistakes, behavior, and our mission. The buck stops with each of us - no blaming or excuses.
  • Say what's on your mind, with positive intentBe direct, proactive, transparent, and frequent in your communication.
  • Default trustAs a Nexer, you do not have to earn trust, trust is given to you by default. If we by default trust each other, our speed of communication, feedback, information sharing, and overall improvements will be a lot faster.
  • Think in first principlesWe first identify the problem and then break it down to its fundamentals before diving into solutions. We constantly ask "why" to validate our assumptions.

We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
