The Epic Ambulatory Analyst focuses on outpatient and ambulatory care workflows within Epic systems, while the Epic Inpatient Analyst specializes in inpatient hospital workflows. Both roles require Epic certifications and are vital in healthcare IT, but they serve different clinical environments and patient care settings.
As an Epic ambulatory, you handle the responsibilities of designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining software for EpicCare Ambulatory applications. You analyze the system to ensure compliance with programming requirements and procedure and training regulations. Your duties are to build clinical workflows, provide software development for the electronic health record (EHR) system, test and troubleshoot the software, install updates, modify system applications based on clinic needs, and prepare reports on how changes may affect other programs. An Epic ambulatory analyst also makes software and application updates and provides end-user support.
