Reports To: Customs Broker / Director of Operations

Employment Type: Full-time

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Position Overview:

The Duty Drawback Manager is a key member of the Customs and Compliance team responsible for overseeing the duty drawback processes, ensuring timely and accurate claim submissions, and maintaining compliance with all U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations. This role plays a critical part in safeguarding the companyโ€™s customs compliance while delivering exceptional service to our clients. The Manager will supervise a small team and will work cross-functionally with internal departments, clients, and external stakeholders to optimize operational efficiency and regulatory adherence.

Key Responsibilities:

Duty Drawback Operations:

  • Manage and oversee all operational aspects of duty drawback claims, including documentation, review, and submission.
  • Ensure compliance with CBP regulations and stay updated on any regulatory changes impacting drawback claims.
  • Prepare timely, accurate, and complete drawback filings.
  • Act as the primary liaison with Customs on all drawback matters, including audits and inquiries.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a select group of clients to ensure satisfaction and proactive service delivery.
  • Provide support and guidance to clients regarding documentation requirements and drawback eligibility.

Team Management:

  • Lead and supervise a small team, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
  • Train new and existing team members on duty drawback processes and compliance standards.

Sales & Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the Sales team to promote Ferrari Expressโ€™ duty drawback services to existing and potential clients.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to support client onboarding and retention efforts.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Maintain organized and accurate records for all drawback claims and client files.
  • Generate reports for internal tracking of filings, refunds, and pending claims.
  • Support internal and external audits as needed.

Additional Duties:

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Customs Broker or Director of Operations.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of direct experience in duty drawback processes.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Licensed Customs Broker preferred but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations and compliance standards.

Skills:

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with customs compliance software is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based environment at the Jamaica, NY location.
  • Full-time, standard business hours, with occasional overtime based on business needs.
  • Role does not require access to the vault, alarms, or firearm-carrying authorization.
