Job description

Global Document Control Supervisor
We have a rewarding opportunity for a Global Document Control Supervisor to join our Farris team in Brecksville, OH!
As our Global Document Control Supervisor you will provide guidance to a team of document specialists for the review and update of customer documentation needs. You will coordinate with a team of stakeholders, the technical review and update of quality and/or engineering documents, procedures, various document registers, or other customer identified document requests. You will also develop processes to support the reviews, providing aging of internal and external information requests, tracking status of document submissions, and responsiveness to those requests.

Salary: $77,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

Your Challenge:
  • Write and maintain document control procedures and workflows including the development/improvement and roll-out of document control tools.
  • Responsible for managing approval workflows, the classification, sorting, indexing, filing, archiving, and retrieval activities of all documentation in support of project needs.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders in the production and upkeep of the Project Document Register, related correspondence and engineering documents.
  • Develop a program for collecting, tracking, storing, retrieving, and the distribution of documents by customer order.
  • Oversee and support Document Control staff in various locations to successfully operate and maintain document control processes.
  • Coordinate and/or attend meetings with the Project Managers or customer representatives to address questions or information requests regarding the content or the scheduling/issuance of the final documentation.
  • Take active part in working with facilities and customers in other countries including China, Middle East, India, etc.
  • Ensure compliance across all information streams in line with standards, protocols, and security measures.
  • Coordinate the interaction between engineering, manufacturing, field operations, program management and marketing to ensure appropriate changes are documented and provide direction for the development of data.
  • Produce transmittal documentation using customer directed or internally developed documentation.
  • Manage the distribution of final documentation, data books, or other requested information to obtain customer approval. Manage customer requested changes after all submittals.
  • Establish a formal release and distribution of controlled documents through appropriate channels to the customer.
  • Serve as a liaison and support to both internal and external Project/Functional teams.

What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Project Management
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in document control or records management, with 1-3 years in supervisory/management roles
  • Strong in MS Office products and Adobe
  • Skilled in reading technical drawings and documents
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments in collaboration with other Departments or Teams
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in a collaborative work environment
  • Able to work with a wide range of disciplines
  • Understanding of best practices from other organizations
  • Knowledge of quality systems and regulatory requirements
  • Experience with databases, ERP systems, and collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace)
