  • Position: Supporting Documentation Specialist
  • Location: San Antonio, Texas
  • Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

THE POSITION:

We are looking for a full time Supporting Documentation Specialist to join our exceptional customer service team who is committed to helping our patients thrive. Our Customer Service department is a fast-paced, high-energy environment and youll find yourself challenged and required to use critical thinking every day through a variety of in-person, email and phone conversations. You will also be surrounded by a close-knit and supportive group who all have the same dedication to serving medically complex children and their families.

  • Obtains supporting documentation as required for products and services provided
  • Obtains prior authorizations required by insurance companies for products and services provided
  • Obtains physician orders for products and services provide
  • Complying with insurance benefits & completes data entry requirements
  • Maintains all patient status information on an ongoing basis
  • Maintains database of physician orders
  • Collaborates with clinics and staff to gather needed information
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and PHS requirements regarding internal and external electronic medical record (EHR) access
  • On-call duties/rotation may be required based on business need
  • Other duties as assigned

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptionally organized, multi-tasking, problem solving and communication and strong keyboard skills. A high level of initiative combined with a customer service mentality is also required.
  • Durable medical equipment (DME) intake/ admissions experience preferred
  • Experience in Brightree EHR a plus!
  • Experience in obtaining title 19 with health care providers
