Job Description

We’re hiring a Dispatch Manager to oversee and coordinate daily transportation and delivery operations for our Commercial Chattanooga branch. This role is responsible for ensuring drivers, routes, deliveries, pickups, and documentation are managed efficiently while maintaining a high level of customer service and DOT compliance.

If you’re an organized logistics professional who enjoys working with drivers, customers, vendors, and operations teams to keep everything moving, this is the role for you.

What You’ll Do
  • Coordinate and schedule inbound vendor deliveries and outbound customer orders using the company fleet
  • Manage driver schedules and delivery routes to ensure on-time performance and meet service level commitments
  • Coordinate daily dispatch activities and adjust routes as needed to address changing customer and operational requirements
  • Verify shipping and delivery documentation to ensure accuracy and alignment with customer requirements
  • Monitor driver logs and vehicle information to maintain DOT compliance
  • Communicate with customers regarding delivery schedules, inquiries, and service-related concerns
  • Resolve delivery issues quickly and coordinate solutions with customers, drivers, and branch operations
  • Organize and coordinate pickups from local vendors
  • Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to ensure smooth outbound shipments and internal transfers
  • Monitor delivery performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service, and productivity
  • Provide direction and support to drivers and ensure company transportation policies and procedures are followed
  • Maintain a professional, safety-focused, and customer-first transportation operation
What We’re Looking For

Experience: 1+ year of dispatching or transportation coordination experience; industrial supply or distribution experience preferred
Leadership: Ability to coordinate drivers, routes, vendors, customers, and internal teams in a fast-paced environment
Logistics: Strong understanding of delivery scheduling, routing, and transportation operations
Customer Service: Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service while resolving delivery-related issues
Communication: Professional, clear, and effective verbal and written communication skills
Attention to Detail: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and changing demands
DOT Knowledge: Understanding of DOT requirements and driver compliance preferred
Technology: Comfortable working with transportation, dispatch, Microsoft Office, and other computer-based systems
Confidentiality: Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive company, employee, and customer information
Teamwork: Comfortable working closely with drivers, warehouse teams, sales, vendors, and customers
Problem Solving: Ability to make quick, sound decisions and find solutions when unexpected delivery challenges arise
