The Prince William County Sheriff's Office is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the full-time position of Public Safety Telecommunicator (Dispatcher) in support of the Courts Division. This position entails interacting with personnel at all levels and providing vital support to our first responders. Being able to communicate clearly and concisely, demonstrating self-motivation, being collaborative and adaptable, working effectively as part of a team, and maintaining strong observational and detail-oriented skills are key qualities for this position.
ABOUT THIS ROLE:
As a Public Safety Telecommunicator, you will be working in the dispatch control office handling various tasks, including but not limited to, gathering information; monitoring security cameras and video footage within the courthouse and its surrounding grounds; receiving and dispatching information via radio and telephone to deputies; aiding other law enforcement personnel in radio traffic and prisoner activity; coordinating inmate movement in and outside the courthouse building; providing vital and time sensitive information to first responders through record checks for vehicle registration, property liens, criminal backgrounds, and public data sources; and answering phones.

HIRING RANGE:
Entry hourly rate range is $23.25 - $34.19.

The selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment background check and is subject to the following: criminal and credit history check, education and driver license verification check, fingerprinting, and a polygraph examination.
