TRANSPORTATION ADMIN ASSISTANT

Riverside Logistics of Richmond, VA is looking to hire a Transportation Administrative Assistant who will be responsible for assisting freight dispatchers in creating all required documents and activity records to schedule and track freight movement, coordinates returns with carriers and obtains proof of delivery documentation and facilitate customer freight claims with carriers as needed. This position pays $22 but can be more depending on experience. You would also be eligible for some of the best perks around including benefits after 30 days - health, dental, vision, life insurance provided by the company (with the option to purchase more), short and long-term disability, $30 per quarter for clothing needed for work, and a 401K with company match.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Creates Bill of Ladings
  • Enters customer’s orders into the dispatch system as needed
  • Maintains Container Schedules
  • Coordinates returns with carriers
  • Contact carriers for proof of deliveries and paperwork
  • Manage and update carrier routing guides
  • Sets pickup and delivery appointments
  • Scan carrier packages and file carrier insurance forms
  • Enter dedicated logs on a spreadsheet
  • File customer freight claims with carriers
  • Assists with running the daily dedicated operation
  • Provides support to Freight Brokers & the Director


QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years Transportation/3PL experience preferred
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel & Word and Outlook
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills verbal and written
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instruction in English
