About the Role:
This is a key leadership role at the heart of KINA's warehouse operations, with the opportunity to influence how our warehousing network performs today and evolves for the future. The role is responsible for setting high standards in safety and operational excellence, leading the introduction of technology improvements, and driving consistency across all warehouse locations. With direct oversight of external warehouse operations and indirect leadership of KINA warehouse managers, this position combines strategic direction with operational impact. It also leads warehouse-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, service and overall performance.
Responsibilities
Warehouse Management KINA
  • Space and strategic planning.
  • Meet external warehouse operations financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; analyzing variances; and initiating corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with the Supply Chain teams to optimize current and future facilities, equipment, and personnel within KINA's distribution network.
  • Work with Strategic Supply Planner to Identify and source warehouse space to meet short and long term operational objectives.
  • Monitor key productivity indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and meet performance standards.
  • In conjunction with local warehouse managers, develop and implement action plans to improve overall warehouse performance.
  • Work with global supply chain counterparts to share operational information.

  • Warehouse Operations - Utilization and Optimization
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
  • Facilitates annual safety/operational audits of all KINA warehouses.
  • Support warehouse operations at all plant and distribution facilities.
  • Drive Knauf Warehousing standards.
  • Collaborate with plant and distribution center warehouse managers to maintain and improve shipping and warehousing best practices.
  • Recommends warehouse operations improvements by determining optimal product handling, storage requirements, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Warehouse Management System
  • Operational process owner for WMS module.
  • Works with Supply Chain team to identify all needed system modifications and improvements and testing the same.
  • Act as liaison between Knauf IT personnel and Supply Chain team on all WMS related issues.
  • EWM Project
    • Collaborate with EWM Implementation team leading process changes which ensure improvement in inventory accuracy, streamlining stock movements, and increasing overall operational efficiency.

Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field

Experience:
  • Minimum five (5) years' operations management experience in a manufacturing industry
  • Minimum three (3) years' direct warehouse management experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Highly efficient in understanding and managing processes
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Windows environment; proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong experience with SAP WMS module or equivalent system.
  • Knowledge and experience with lean manufacturing and lean office concepts
  • Ability to communicate effectively within the department and across the organization
  • Ability to communicate issues and prepare decision making process for the management team
  • Ability to lead, train and manage others
  • Ability to motivate and energize a team to produce winning solutions
  • Ability to partner with and support colleagues both internally and externally
  • Ability to travel approximately 50-60% of the time
  • Ability to work hands-on in an industrial manufacturing environment, as well as in a corporate environment
