Responsibilities

The Director, Warehouse Operations Support is responsible for the development, deployment, training, and maintenance of EFW Warehousing initiatives that support day-to-day warehouse operations and improve efficiency for employees and network partners, with a specific focus on onboarding new customers and markets.  The Director, Warehouse Operations Support will direct, manage, and lead a team to ensure that strategic initiatives are met in a timely manner.  The Director, Warehouse Operations Support, and team will be expected to work cross-functionally to support and develop strategic initiatives supported by the use of technology and improved efficiency.

  • Support the onboarding of new customers, especially those beginning in new markets.
  • Assist with the design layout and setup of new facilities, including procurement and installation of necessary equipment and infrastructure.
  • Travel to various EFW Warehousing warehouses throughout the country to provide support when needed.
  • Identify areas within the warehouse operation that could be supported by new technology or improved workflows.
  • Design, implement, and support deployment of warehouse operational technology.
  • Conduct assessments to identify warehouse operational limitations.
  • Work with field and corporate management to ensure implementation of and compliance with set forth processes and procedures.
  • Create solutions to close gaps in warehouse operational processes.
  • Support company strategic initiatives.
  • Continuously improve areas of technology and other tools that support day-to-day warehouse operations.
  • Train and help develop SOPs for areas of warehouse technology.
  • Manage and lead a team of support personnel to support any and all warehouse operational technology initiatives.
  • Act as liaison between operations, and various other EFW Warehousing departments to develop operational hardware and software solutions and maintain current software and hardware that supports EFW Warehousing initiatives.
  • Understand and provide user support for current software and hardware solutions in place.
  • Work with users on troubleshooting potential issues related to software or hardware.
  • Support deployment of new software to EFW Warehousing regional warehouses and network locations.
  • Work with the Training team to develop training material on new enhancements to warehouse operational technology software and updates.
  • Develop tools and reports for various warehouse operational needs throughout EFW Warehousing.
  • Foster an environment that encourages employees to ask for new and innovative tools.
  • Manage different reporting tools or technology enhancements as needed by warehouse staff.
  • Manage warehouse operational technology process improvement and assist implementation of best practices. If processes need to be improved, provide examples and solutions. Voice issues and concerns in a constructive manner in order to foster and promote a positive work environment.
  • Lead and encourage creative problem-solving among the different business units.
  • Develop positive and professional relationships with all employees, customers, and vendors.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism at all times.
  • Address all issues in a timely manner that could impact the business in accordance with Federal laws including, workplace harassment, and discrimination, immoral and improper conduct.
  • Promote the need for and ensure a safe environment.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must be flexible, able to pay excellent attention to detail, and work under pressure during periods of peak work volume.
  • Ability to travel frequently to warehouses throughout the country to provide support when required.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Excel formulas and report building.
  • Proven ability to learn and work with new technology.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time management, organization, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Consistently meet documented deadlines and objectives.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to clearly convey short and long-term defined goals.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be mentally and emotionally capable of handling high-stress environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex business and/or technical documents.
  • Ability to write comprehensive reports and detailed business correspondence.
  • Ability to work with groups of people such as other departments and communicate known concepts.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check

SUPERVISION

Position functions with minimal supervision and has 3-5 direct reports. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 3-5 years of experience.  However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.  Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Computer Science/Programming, or other analytical field of study preferred.

 

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

A valid driver's license is required. None required.

TRAVEL

Periodic travel up to 50% may be required.
