Overview
The SVP Director, Strategy oversees the strategy and planning process for assigned clients and supports the vision of the strategy product for the agency, through work for assigned clients and in assistance with new business. The SVP Director is a leader who contributes to brand strategy, builds solid relationships with clients across all levels and functions, and can manage, lead, and develop team member's strategic abilities. The SVP Director is recognized as the expert on the brand, industry, and consumer.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of current media industry news and brand business (current and historical perspectives) with a focus on upstream initiatives
  • Lead in creation of strategic approach that addresses Consumer, Brand, and Business tensions or opportunities
  • Adept and interested in proactively leading and elevating critical thinking across a portfolio of brands + running projects. You are an owner vs. an advisor
  • Guide and support team in data analysis to identify business, consumer, and brand insights to inform strategic approach to deliver business objectives, using syndicated and proprietary data resources
  • Clear, data storyteller and problem solver. Can identify meaningful, singular, useable insights/tensions
  • Drive Innovation and Thought Leadership agenda both as a new business asset but equally within the agency to drive modern marketing solutions for our clients
  • Write and deliver strategies and POV's as well as oversee the translation of these strategies into the final recommendations
  • Provide vision, direction, management and support to individuals within the team to ensure their work aligns with our mission and goals
  • Be familiar with widely used and emerging insight tools and media technology, channels, and terminology
  • Form collaborative relationships with other agency capabilities, partner agency teams and third parties as necessary

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in advertising, marketing, business, psychology, or similar area; graduate degree preferred
  • 12+ years of experience in media planning/strategy with progressive levels of responsibility
  • 4+ years of previous management experience
  • Ability to strategically plan campaigns to align with clients' strategic goals and KPIs
  • Pitch experience with proven track record
  • Experience across all media types (national, local, digital, direct, programmatic, shopper, etc)
  • Ability to anticipate and quickly assess continually changing client needs and adapt resources and strategies accordingly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Ability to translate data into viable business solutions to enhance strategies and meet deliverables
  • Excellent leadership ability to drive team to deliver results
  • Thorough and proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Compensation Range: $175,000 - $245,000 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
