The Role

We are seeking a visionary, hands‑on Director of Design / UX to champion the next evolution of Sycle’s SaaS Audiology Practice Management platform. In this role, you will lead, inspire, and grow our design team while actively driving our design strategy.

Your immediate mission will be to audit, modernize, and refresh our design templates, translating complex clinical and administrative workflows into elegant, intuitive user experiences. You will collaborate deeply with Software Development and Product Management to build, implement, and maintain a unified style guide and scalable design system that ensures consistency across our entire global application.

One possible location for this hybrid role isDenver, CO.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Vision & Strategy: Define the overarching UX/UI strategy for Sycle’s suite of products. Drive the design modernization roadmap to elevate the aesthetic and usability of our platform.
  • Legacy Modernization & Auditing: Lead a comprehensive audit of our current SaaS template ecosystem. Partner across teams to carefully untangle and modernize dated designs, translating them into scalable, modern components.
  • Systemize Design: Partner with Engineering to create, implement, and govern a robust, reusable Design System and Style Guide, ensuring seamless UI consistency and faster development cycles.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Manage, coach, and elevate our Design Manager and designers. Foster a collaborative, high-performance design culture rooted in user‑centered research, continuous feedback, and professional growth.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Serve as the bridge between Product, Engineering, and Business stakeholders. Advocate for UX best practices and ensure design specifications are clearly understood and successfully implemented by development teams.
  • User Research & Data‑Driven Design: Establish a culture of testing and validation. Utilize user feedback, clinic observations, and product analytics to back design decisions with tangible data.
Key Requirements & QualificationsExperience
  • SaaS/B2B Leadership: 8+ years of professional UX/UI design experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or player‑coach role managing product designers.
  • Untangling Legacy Systems: Proven experience navigating and modernizing platforms with legacy code. Experience working in an environment transitioning towards a microservices architecture is a major plus.
  • Healthcare/Clinical Tech Experience (Highly Preferred): Experience designing for digital health, EHR/EMR systems, practice management software, or highly complex, regulated SaaS environments (e.g., HIPAA compliance, accessibility/WCAG standards).
  • Proven Design System Execution: A proven track record of successfully building, launching, and maintaining a design system/component library in close partnership with front‑end engineering teams.
Skills
  • Tools: Mastery of industry‑standard product design and prototyping tools (such as Figma, Claude, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar advanced UI/UX ecosystems), alongside standard documentation and collaboration platforms.
  • Technical Literacy: Strong conceptual and working understanding of front‑end and web technologies. You should feel comfortable collaborating with engineers working across a modern stack.
  • Influence & Communication: Exceptional communication and storytelling skills; ability to articulate the business value of design to executives, developers, and customers alike.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human‑Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, Cognitive Science, or a related field; or equivalent practical, industry‑leading experience.

  • Medical, Dental and Vision: Sycle pays employee‑only premium at 100% for base plans.
  • FSA: Pre‑tax options for Health ($3,400/yr) and Dependent Care ($7,500/yr).
  • Life & Disability: Voluntary Life/AD&D; Short‑Term (60% up to $2,000/week) and Long‑Term (60% up to $7,500/month) Disability.
