Job description

Location: United States | Remote
Job Title :Director of Implementation
Summary
This is a hybrid client-delivery and technical role that leads healthcare technology implementations while owning the end-to-end acquisition, transformation, validation, and ingestion of client data into the AbaxOne platform. You will serve as the primary bridge among clients, Operations, Product, Engineering, Data, Security, and other internal teams.
An immediate priority is transferring knowledge and operational ownership of data-ingestion processes from the current offshore team to the newly established U.S.-based software and implementation team, documenting everything, and establishing sustainable domestic ownership. Over time you will modernize and automate these processes to reduce manual effort, improve quality, shorten timelines, and support scaling.
Responsibilities
Client Implementation Leadership
  • Lead implementations from handoff and technical discovery through configuration, data validation, go-live, and post-launch stabilization.
  • Develop and maintain implementation plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, decision points, and escalation paths.
  • Serve as the primary technical and implementation contact for client stakeholders, translating contractual and operational requirements into clear technical deliverables.
  • Facilitate data-discovery sessions and coordinate cross-functional work across clients, Operations, Product, Engineering, Data, Security, and other internal teams.

Data Ingestion & Integration
  • Own end-to-end acquisition, mapping, transformation, validation, loading, reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution for client data.
  • Build, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot ingestion workflows using SQL, ETL/ELT tools, secure file transfer, APIs, flat files, Azure Data Factory, or comparable technologies.
  • Create mapping specifications, optimize SQL, and design reliable error handling, logging, retry, replay, monitoring, tenant separation, and production support processes.
  • Partner with Data Architecture and Engineering on reusable standards, scalability, and production reliability.

Knowledge Transfer & Continuity
  • Lead transfer of ingestion knowledge, documentation, and production ownership from offshore resources to the U.S.-based team.
  • Document feeds, pipelines, rules, schedules, credentials, support procedures, runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and cross-training materials.
  • Validate processes independently and eliminate single-threaded or undocumented dependencies.

Process Improvement & Automation
  • Simplify, standardize, and continuously improve implementation and ingestion workflows.
  • Identify and automate manual, repetitive, or error-prone work, including responsible use of AI for documentation, analysis, testing, and operations with human review and compliance controls.
  • Partner on reusable frameworks that improve quality, reduce cycle times, and support scaling.
  • Security, Compliance & Stewardship
  • Handle PHI and confidential data in accordance with HIPAA, SOC 2, client requirements, and Abax policies.
  • Follow least-privilege principles, ensure auditability, traceability, and proper controls, and escalate suspected data or security issues immediately.

Team & Culture
  • Operate as a hands-on leader equally comfortable in client meetings, data analysis, pipeline troubleshooting, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Demonstrate ownership, transparency, accountability, documentation discipline, knowledge sharing, quality, and continuous learning.

Measures of Success
  • Timely knowledge transfer and elimination of critical offshore/single-person dependencies; on-time, high-quality implementations; reliable production data feeds; high data accuracy and reconciliation; reduced defects/rework; shorter cycle times; increased automation and standardization; complete documentation; strong stakeholder confidence; and consistent compliance.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years in healthcare technology, SaaS implementation, data integration, or related technical delivery, including complex cross-functional client implementations.
  • Hands-on experience with healthcare data mapping, transformation, validation, reconciliation, SQL, ETL/ELT, and file-based or API integrations.
  • Experience with EHR/EMR, laboratory, payer, referral, scheduling, revenue-cycle, or comparable healthcare systems.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical deliverables and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong project-management, stakeholder-management, and problem-solving skills in client-facing environments.
  • Experience handling PHI in HIPAA-regulated environments.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Storage, Functions, or related Azure technologies.
  • Experience with Epic, Cerner, other major EHR platforms, HL7, FHIR, healthcare APIs, SFTP, or related interoperability standards.
  • Experience designing production pipelines with logging, alerting, retry/replay, reconciliation, and multi-tenant SaaS reliability practices.
  • Lean Six Sigma, PMP, Agile, or similar certification; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience with organizational change, knowledge transfer, or automation of implementation and data-quality workflows.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
  • Fully remote, U.S. based position.
  • Requires reliable high speed internet and a private, quiet, and focused workspace that protects patient confidentiality.
  • Prolonged sitting while working at a computer and using a telephone or headset.
  • Clear, professional communication with colleagues in every interaction.
