It is governed by a volunteer board of directors. The Director has a dual reporting structure. The Director reports to the board of directors and is held accountable by the Executive Committee of the board for performance. Additionally, as an Atrium Health teammate, the Director also reports to an Atrium Health executive leader for time, attendance, and performance goals that are shared between Atrium Health and Teen Health Connection.

Provides direct supervision to the Development Team Leader and oversight responsibilities for all contributed revenue activities and initiatives, which include donor acquisition, fundraising, and stewardship. In addition, the Director has an active donor portfolio focused upon major and legacy gifts. The Director has individual fundraising goals and required donor stewardship activities as determined by the annual philanthropic development plan. This role has direct supervision of the Financial Controller and is responsible for oversight of the annual independent audit and all financial processes required of a nonprofit organization to remain in good financial standing.
  • Teen Health Connection supports and encourages partnership and collaboration with its local and national funders to meet shared goals, expand service offerings in response to community needs, and explore new mission-aligned organizational advancement opportunities.  The most significant community collaboration is with Atrium Health. The Director is the primary liaison and ensures that Teen Health Connection remains "value add" and is actively striving with Atrium Health to meet the Atrium Health organizational goals for patient care and community impact, while maintaining Teen Health Connection's unique identity, and ensuring all teammates adhere to Atrium Health business, human resource, and clinical processes and policies.  The Director is Teen Health Connection's most senior community-facing leader and should always be the embodiment of Teen Health Connection's mission, vision, and values.
  • Teen Health Connection recruits, develops, and retains an engaged, diverse, inclusive, strategic, best-practice board that is mission-driven with fiduciary and governance responsibilities. The Director is a non-voting and active participant of all board committees as outlined by the organization's bylaws.  The Director supervises the Administrative Assistant, whose primary responsibility is to support the activities of the board of directors. It is the Director's responsibility to ensure that the nonprofit has the infrastructure to support Teen Health Connection's bylaws, committee charters, and work of the committees and the board of directors, in adherence with state and federal nonprofit regulations.  It is the Director's responsibility to ensure that the board and the organization are prepared for leadership succession and to ensure organizational and financial sustainability.
  • Within a healthcare environment, manage and prioritize multiple tasks while demonstrating overall effectiveness in communication, fundraising, negotiation, fiscal management, and working with a community leadership board.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performance team by cultivating shared goals, open communication, and supporting growth within role-aligned competencies.  Establish an inclusive culture of organizational learning, teammate development, and performance improvement initiatives focused on serving adolescents and their families while meeting Teen Health Connection's mission.  Involve teammates in planned change methodologies impacting the mainstay of organizational performance.  Lead the Teen Health Connection Nonprofit Leadership Team while working in collaboration with Teen Health Connection's Medical Director and Practice Manager to ensure the delivery of integrated adolescent medicine and behavioral health care services.
