Director of Training & DevelopmentTony's TacosPosition Overview

Tony's Tacos is seeking a hands-on Director of Training & Development to build and lead our training department as the company continues to grow.

This person will create and oversee Tony's Academy, developing clear and consistent training systems for FOH, BOH, Shift Leaders, Managers, In-Store Trainers, and new store openings. This role requires strong restaurant experience, QSR or fast-casual knowledge, exceptional guest service standards, and the ability to build a training department from the ground up.

This is a field-driven role for someone who is organized, self-motivated, hands-on, and comfortable coaching teams inside the restaurants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and lead Tony's Academy
  • Create FOH, BOH, leadership, and manager training programs
  • Develop training manuals, checklists, testing, and certification tools
  • Lead training preparation and support for new store openings
  • Build and certify In-Store Trainers
  • Standardize onboarding and retraining across all locations
  • Coach Shift Leaders, Managers, and future leaders
  • Partner with operations to improve consistency, cleanliness, speed, food quality, and guest experience
  • Spend time in stores observing, training, and correcting standards in real time
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of restaurant training, operations, or learning and development experience
  • QSR, fast-casual, or high-volume restaurant experience strongly preferred
  • New store opening experience required
  • Strong FOH and BOH operational knowledge
  • Proven ability to build training systems from scratch
  • Excellent guest service and hospitality skills
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
  • Highly organized and able to multitask
  • Self-starter with strong follow-through
  • Comfortable holding teams accountable
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
