Job description

Technology at Roadrunner cannot operate in silos.
Application teams cannot move quickly if infrastructure slows them down. Infrastructure decisions are meaningless if they do not improve how applications are delivered, supported, and scaled.
We need a technology leader who understands both sides.
This role exists because we need stronger execution across engineering, infrastructure, business systems, and delivery teams. Someone who can step into an existing environment, improve how teams operate, and ensure technology work translates into real business outcomes.
This is not a pure application leadership role.
This is not a pure infrastructure role.
It is for someone who can operate across both-and bring stronger execution, accountability, and leadership to the entire system.
You'll lead teams across engineering, business analysts, EDI, and supporting technology functions while helping Roadrunner build a faster, more reliable technology organization.
What you'll do
1. Lead technology execution across the business
  • Own delivery across engineering, infrastructure, business systems, EDI, and supporting technology teams

  • Ensure priorities are clear and work moves quickly

  • Remove blockers across teams and functions

  • Improve execution across multiple concurrent initiatives

  • Create better operational discipline without creating unnecessary bureaucracy

2. Connect applications and infrastructure
  • Ensure infrastructure enables application performance, scalability, and delivery speed

  • Identify gaps between development, operations, and system performance

  • Improve coordination between application teams and infrastructure teams

  • Balance speed, reliability, scalability, and operational risk in decision-making

  • Ensure technology functions operate as one system-not disconnected teams

3. Build a stronger technology organization
  • Step into an existing team and assess structure, capabilities, and performance

  • Strengthen accountability, role clarity, and execution standards

  • Develop managers and technical leaders

  • Build a team that solves problems quickly and executes consistently

  • Improve how teams collaborate across functions

4. Drive operational improvement
  • Identify inefficiencies in workflows, systems, and delivery processes

  • Improve execution speed without sacrificing quality

  • Build better operating rhythms across teams

  • Strengthen ownership and follow-through across the organization

  • Create systems that scale as the business grows

5. Partner with the business
  • Work closely with Operations, Pricing, Customer Experience, and leadership teams

  • Translate business priorities into clear technical execution plans

  • Communicate tradeoffs, risks, and progress clearly

  • Ensure technology investments create measurable business value

What you bring
  • 7+ years of technology leadership experience

  • Experience leading application development teams, infrastructure teams, or both

  • Experience operating in environments where execution mattered more than theory

  • Experience leading teams through growth, ambiguity, or organizational change

  • Strong track record improving team performance and delivery outcomes

  • Ability to operate across multiple technical functions without needing to be the deepest specialist in every area

  • Hands-on enough to ask strong technical questions and unblock teams when needed

  • Strong communication skills with both technical teams and executive leadership

How you operate
  • You solve problems across systems-not within silos

  • You improve execution instead of adding bureaucracy

  • You're comfortable inheriting teams and making them better

  • You make decisions with incomplete information

  • You focus on outcomes-not activity

  • You move quickly and hold people accountable

  • You understand both technical complexity and business urgency
