Compensation Range: 109,284-157,368. This salary range reflects full-time, 12-month assignments. Salary offers for part-time roles or assignments of less than 12 months will be prorated based on the assignment scope and duration.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The Executive Director of Technology provides leadership, management, and oversight of the district's technology operations, infrastructure, information systems, cybersecurity, instructional technology, and technology support services.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Director of Information Services, Director of Technology Services, Director of IT/IS Security
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. In addition to the requirements listed below, regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives and parameters found in the Board's strategic plan.
- Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
- Collaborates with the Chief Technology and Operations Officer (CTOO) and district leadership to support technology initiatives that advance the district's strategic plan.
- Ensures the effective delivery of technology services that support teaching, learning, business operations, communications, and district initiatives.
- Develops, implements, and monitors short- and long-range technology plans that support instructional, operational, and administrative objectives.
- Provides recommendations regarding technology investments, modernization efforts, cybersecurity initiatives, and operational improvements.
- Leads technology governance processes, standards, procedures, and best practices across the district.
- Maintains awareness of emerging technologies, educational technology trends, cybersecurity developments, and operational best practices.
- Oversees the operation, maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of district technology infrastructure, networks, systems, applications, telecommunications, and end-user devices.
- Ensures technology systems effectively support the instructional needs of approximately 28,000 students and operational needs of approximately 4,000 employees.
- Oversees service delivery functions including help desk operations, technical support services, device deployment, asset management, and lifecycle planning.
- Establishes, monitors, and reports on service level expectations and operational performance metrics.
- Directs technology projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with district goals, timelines, budgets, and resource constraints.
- Oversees enterprise applications, information systems, systems integration, and data management processes.
- Leads district cybersecurity efforts including risk assessment, vulnerability management, incident response planning, security awareness, and business continuity planning.
- Supports compliance with applicable requirements related to student data privacy, records management, cybersecurity, E-Rate, and state and federal reporting obligations.
- Assists in the development and administration of technology budgets, technology replacement plans, and capital improvement requests.
- Monitors expenditures and resource utilization to maximize operational efficiency and return on investment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Information Technology, Educational Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Leadership, or related field preferred or comparable certification preferred.
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible leadership experience in technology management, information systems, educational technology, or related field.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

- Demonstrated experience leading complex technology initiatives and organizational change.
- Experience managing technology operations, infrastructure, enterprise applications, cybersecurity, and support services.
- Experience developing and managing budgets and technology replacement strategies.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.
